This policy explains what Routecut collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we sit in front of your AI traffic to route it, and we are built to keep only metadata — never the content of your prompts or the models' responses.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: the name and email you give us, and a one-way
SHA-256hash of your API key (never the key itself). - Request metadata: for each API call we record timestamp, task category, the model we routed to, token counts, cost, latency, success/failure, and a one-way
SHA-256hash of the request. This is what powers your usage and savings analytics. - Site data: basic, aggregate visit information if you browse this website.
2. What we do not collect
We do not store the text of your prompts, the text of model responses, or any end-user content contained in them. Our request logs have no field for it. See our Security & Privacy page for the technical detail.
3. How we use information
- To provide the routing service and return responses to you.
- To produce your usage and savings analytics.
- To bill you and provide support.
- We never use your traffic to train or fine-tune any model. Routecut is a router, not a model.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your data, and we share it only with the third-party providers needed to deliver the service — such as the model provider a request is routed to — or where required by law.
5. Security
API traffic is served over TLS. API keys are stored only as hashes. Request logs contain metadata only. Full detail is on our Security & Privacy page.
6. Data retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Request metadata (never content) is retained to power your analytics. You may request deletion of your account and associated metadata at any time by emailing abe@routecut.com.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Email abe@routecut.com and we'll action it.
8. Changes
We'll update this page and the "last updated" date when this policy changes.
